Hardcover book with dustjacket in a good condition. The dustjacket has some grubby marks and a small tear. The hardback has slight foxing to outside page edges, otherwise a good copy and tight spine.
This book has been compiled from the experience gained by the engineering staff of a large ball and roller bearing company in all fields of bearing application.
The promising reception which the original edition of this book, as published in 1953 under the Title "Die Walzlagerpraxis", has found within Germany and in other German-speaking countries, led to increasing requests for an English version from English-speaking countries. The present translation is intended to meet these requests.
Readers of the English version should note the fact that the contents of this book are based on ball and roller bearing designs, specification, and standards as in use within Germany. The essential data of these provisions are contained in the tables of this book. For agreement with these standards the metric system has been retained; abundant conversion tables have been added, however, to facilitate reading.
