The ScribeRead module reads the identification scribes on semiconductor wafers. It combines very robust optical character recognition software with an easy to use Windows interface. A guided wizard setup routine allows easy optimization of image processing and illumination to get maximum read performance on a variety of wafers at all stages of the manufacturing process.
The software dynamically adjusts OCR parameters such as scaling, lighting and image pre-processing to optimize the read. ScribeRead can read different wafer IDs with differing characteristics by cycling through a series of “tries†with different setup parameters until a successful read occurs.
