The Model 1805 multisonic Translator Detector is a broad band amplifier designed to amplify the frequencies of both sonic and ultrasonic air leaks in pressurized telephone cable in the range of 100 Hz to 100 KHz .
When the Model 1805 is used with the Models 1801/1802 Underground Duct Probe, the Model 1805-00220 Hand Probe and the Model 1807 Aerial Search Wand, sonic or ultrasonic air leaks can be pinpointed by listening to the audible sounds produced by the 1805 and by watching the amount of deflection on the 1805 meter scale
