Here we have a Nice VERY sharp NEW threading tap. US MADE by Hanson Whitney. Size 1/2"-9 +.015" So it is just a little over 1/2" It is a 3 flute taper tap with a straight shank. The shank size .304" so you can chuck it right up in your hand held electric drill or in your drill press chuck. I have had several of these straight shank taps and I use this same photo for all of them, it looks basically just like the one in the photo but a little smaller. Rare hard to find taps
