These are used as upgrades in Hi-End Audio equipment in everything from Headphone amplifiers, DACs, Phono Stages etc. The LM6181 is considered a favorite and a first choice when the specs are in range. Some of the suggested uses below are drop in replacements, but others would require DIY'ing, so please know your circuit or check with a qualified tech before making any changes.
Replace the NE5532/34 in your Marantz CDA94
Replace the AD846 in your Linn Numerik II
Replace the AD825 in MANY CD players (this is supposed to be a significant upgrade)
