The Grundfos MQ is a compact all-in-one pressure boosting unit, purposely-designed for domestic water supply and other boosting or lift applications. The MQ series is a compact, reliable, and easy-to-install pump with many standard features. The MQ pump is ideal for boosting pressure from water storage tanks or from city water supply (Maximum 45 PSI inlet pressure). The MQ is also a self-priming multistage centrifugal pump. It can self-prime from a well depth of down to 26 feet within a maximum time of 5 minutes.
Grundfos MQ makes it easy to select the right solution. The MQ is an all-in-one unit with two versions to choose from. There is no need to worry about a separate pressure tank, pressure switch, electrical connections, fittings, or any other separate items. With MQ it is literally a matter of "plug and pump". Installation of a MQ pump is simple and can be done in a matter of minutes, this greatly reduced installation costs.
The MQ pump compact and extremely easy to install. It's compact horizontal design makes the pump easy to place even where space is limited. The pressure switch and tank are already built into the MQ. Furthermore it is self priming and water-cooled with a very low noise level. The outlet connection can be angled up to 5° to fit existing pipe work.
Operating the MQ pump is simple and easy. The actual settings are clearly indicated by light-diodes on the user friendly control panel. The MQ pump has a small built-in pressure tank, sufficient to ensure that water is readily available from the tap. When water is required, the pump automatically starts. A non-return valve prevents back-flow.
Grundfos MQ is built for trouble-free operation. It is construction from corrosion-resistant materials means it can be used for clean water. The anti-cycling feature prevents the pump from repeatedly starting and stopping in the event of a dripping tap or minor leak. If there is no water available, the pump will stop to protect itself and restart automatically when water is again available.

NOTE: As can be seen from the chart above these pumps can deliver up to a 59 PSI boost to the existing water pressure.
If the existing water pressure (city water pressure) added to the pumps boost is too high then the city water pressure should be controlled at inlet of pump with a Pressure Reducing Valve.
This valve allows you to manually adjust incoming pressure to reduce the total household Pressure.
Pressure reducing valves are sold at most all plumbing and home improvement stores.
