This listing is for a 3/4 inch block (18mm) of pure Nickel metal weighing 60 grams (over 2 ounces). It was cut from a larger block of high purity nickel and is a nice piece of this common but hard-to-find metal. This piece will fit into the 60ml soda-lime glass vials that we use to package other metal samples offered for sale. Most of the edges are perpendicular but a few may be at angles to each other. The photo is very similar to the piece you will receive. Made in U.S.A.

Nickel is a hard, corrosion-resistant magnetic metal that will keep its shine indefinitely. It is used for coins, plating, and a major component of stainless steel and other alloys such as Mu-metal, Monel and Alnico. The metal is frequently found in meteorites along with iron.
