MAPOS TWIN STATION AUTO INDEXING POLISHING MACHINE WITH VACUUM PART HOLD DOWN, COMPOUND FEED. NEW 1998. 480 V, 3 PH., 1998. SERIAL #1318.
1) The finishing heads are made of cotton. The wheel carries different abrasives that are sprayed onto the heads at the moment prior to contact with the work-piece. There are a number of different abrasives available for finishing various materials.
2) You use the same cotton heads with different abrasives.
3) The indexing table has a vacuum hold down fixturing plate that measures 12" x 23". The thickness of material to be finished could probably be up to 1" or more.
4) The feed and speed is adjustable.
5) The cotton heads are available through a number of sources.
6) This machine cost $180,000.00 new in 1998 and has very low hours, in like new condition.
