This is basically a non-adhesive thin film material cutter. This machine was originally purchased for use in thin film breath strips &/or nutrient strips processing and packaging.
The company purchase a lot quantity of these machines anticipating growth of the company, as I understand it they ended up contracting the manufacturing of their product overseas. Accordingly, these / this machine is available.
These TBC machines are widely marketed and configured for various product cutting. This is a Non-Adhesive material cutter. This model has the double reel setup so that it can accommodate stripping / peeling the product prior to cutting. IE…working with a product with a backing. Of course you are not obligated to use a backed product, just use the rear reel for product feed. In my tests I didn't use the feed reel, I just let the product lay loosely coiled on the floor.
This is an amazing production oriented machine, in that you can set length, speed, and quantity of pieces to be cut. It can be operated either in manual mode or automatic mode. It also has a foot control pad for hands free operation.
This machine is capable of cutting many thin materials such as; films, tapes, labels, cardstock, sanding & emery papers, ribbon, cloth webbing / strapping, velcro, plastic Zip tie, etc.
I even had limited success with shrink tube in my tests. The shrink tube needs to be small size thin wall and flat to fit through the feed guide plate, however you could remove the plates or add a spacer to accommodate a bit thicker material, or even make guide plates to suit your needs…the guide plate consists of small metal strips.
The feed wheel tension is adjustable for variance according to material thickness. Tension is the key to consistent feed and sizing from my experience. The maximum material I fed through was about .01"
The cutter itself is 2" wide and is razor sharp. The cutter is replaceable through web packaging supply sites.
The maximum cutting size is about 2" / 50mm, though the guide plates would need to be altered to accommodate that width. In current configuration the maximum feed width is about 1-3/8".
Length Selection…A Bunch: I set the length to 999,999,999 and the digital readout displayed a maximum length of 1789569 (nearly 69,000 inches / 5700 feet / over 1 mile), I selected start and watched it feed & count off about 34,000 before I hit stop. Suffice it to say the cutter will cut probably up to any length you would need!
Cut Quantity: Settable to 99,999 . Speed: Manual indicates 175 - 185 cuts per minute @ just shy of an inch per cut.
Really quite an amazing cutting machine that could serve well in so many production cutting applications, volume productivity is certainly what it offers.
Very simple to operate via control panel with digital display and easy to setup.
Productivity has its costs……the basic model can be found on the web for between $3600 to $4000.
