This information is from the manufacter: The Traco TISH-300 Impulse Bag Sealer is the machine of choice for sealing polyethylene and polypropylene bags quickly and efficiently without any warm-up time. They can also be used to seal thermoplastic bags and packaging. Makes excellent air and water tight seals on many shrinkwrap materials. The TISH series are equipped with an electronic adjustable timer with LED light which controls the different sealing times needed for different materials and varying thickness. The timer automatically beeps when the seal is done; giving the user a consistantly flat seal. Maximum material thickness is .016 inches and it can create a water or air tight seal.
